Messi still disappointed with World Cup loss

That disappointment of finishing on the losing side in the final match of the World Cup 2014 is still there in the heart of the Argentina skipper Lionel Messi.
Messi said that while talking to the reporters in the press conference yesterday after his team suffered a 0-2 loss to Brazil in a friendly.
According to the 26-year old, to see the World title drift away after coming so close was a painful feeling and it would take years for that anger and disappointment to go out of the system.
Messi was also frustrated by the Brazil defeat as he thought his team could have prevented that result if the opportunities had been taken.
In the words of the Barcelona player, “That penalty we should have converted and also, their opening strike, we could have done better there. It was due to our mistake that they got on to the board.”
When asked how he feels to be working with Gerardo Martino at the international level, Messi said, “I have already worked with him. So, I know him well, but, that’s not the case with the other guys in the squad. They, perhaps, need some time to understand him and his ideology. As the time goes by, the coordination between the manager and the players will get better and better.
When asked about that loss versus Germany in Brazil, the charismatic striker said, “Well, that still hurts and it will keep hurting for a number of years. You cannot put a World Cup defeat and, that too, of the final, out of your mind straightaway. That’s just impossible. But, then, life goes on.”
Germany had defeated Argentina by just 1 goal in that final game and that goal had come courtesy of Mario Gotze.
